A Pool Skater Reborn !!

I have to give my son Kaiel credit for getting me back into skateboarding.
It will never surpass surfing as my passion but it is still a blast. We have been skating together 3 days a week and it seems to be our bonding time.
Kaiel is turning into a great young pool rider and he is only 11!

I seem to be picking it up pretty quick again also.
Here is a funny then and now pic I made.

Another crazy note.
Just recently I spent $800 to buy an old Jay Smith Spoon Nose board.
It is the one above in the picture on the left. The story goes like this...after I stopped skating in the 80s I sold it to a roommate for $40 who then unfortunately gave it to Goodwill.

Call it nostalgia but over the past couple of years I have been on a mission to find this board. I ended up posting a "want list" on
http://www.artofskateboarding.com two years ago and finally just this month someone replied saying they have the board....!!! I couldn't believe it.

Well now I am $800 poorer but I am really stoked to have this board again.(thanks Ron)
I have hung it on my wall underneath my new Skaterbuilt Jay Smith deck.
Check out the condition by clicking on the thumbnail to the right.

Of course this board will never be ridden again but hey it's sure nice to look at it :-)
