Big surf and hard cement.
Got up early with a quick cup of coffee and ran down to the beach to get in a surf session.
(Kaiel had a NSSA surf contest down in Mission Beach at 10:30 AM so I knew we had to leave by 9 ish.)
Waves were decent and actually pretty big. Had some pretty decent rights out front and was pretty much getting worked by the paddles back out.
After a quick stop at Starbucks in Cardiff (yes I had more coffee) we jammed down to Mission Beach for the surf contest. Waves were big , somewhat closed-out and very disorganized. Since it is beach break and there was no channel, Kaiel had no chance in h*%$# of making it to the outside. He opted for the turbulent inside where he surfed the reforms. Ended up 4th out of 5 in his heat.
Decided we would have lunch down in Coronado at Costa Azul since we have been holding onto this $25 gift certificate for 2 months. Coronado also has a decent skateboard park we were hoping to skate.
Well the park cost $20 for the two of us and did not accept plastic. So no skateboarding :-(
Lunch was great though and the burritos were huge.
Coronado is a cute little town. Kaiel said that it reminded him of Catalina.

Kaiel and I ended the day skateboarding the Encinitas Y after dropping Mary at home. Really good session for both of us. Kaiel is looking really smooth in the bowl. I managed some pretty decent frontside airs. Ended up eating it on a frontside grind though and now my knee is sore.
Good day but I never got my long run in so I will have to run tomorrow after work. HooBoy. :-(
